Pakistan to send first astronaut into space by 2022
Ministry for Science and Technology incorporate positive things to take Pakistan to the next level. This time Federal Minister Fawad Chaudhry announced that Pakistan will send its “first astronaut to space” in 2022
The Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry stated that “In 2022 we will send our first person to space,” he said, calling it the “biggest space event of our history”.
In order to make Pakistan’s space position better, the selection process to send Pakistan’s first astronaut to space will begin in February 2020. Out of total 50 people will be shortlisted and then the list of potential astronauts will be further cut down to 25 individuals.
Fawad Chahdury disclosed that as the country does not have its own satellite launching facility, a Chinese facility will be used as an agreement between Pakistan and China. As done previously, Pakistan launched two indigenously built satellites into orbit, using a Chinese launch vehicle.
The satellites were launched onboard a Chinese Long March (LM-2C) rocket. In addition, one of the satellites launched was a remote sensing satellite (PRSS1).
